Combat-Meter

Gerade habe ich beim Lesen der Gorean Forums einen Hinweis auf ein neues Combat Meter namens GCM, kurz für Gor Combat Meter, gefunden. Dieses wurde Mitte März 2012 vorgestellt, und wird von einer Gruppe von Leuten geschrieben und gewartet.

Die Frage ist dabei: wozu ein weiteres Meter und was wollen diese Leute anders machen? Auf der Website selber liest man dazu das hier:

GCM is a collaborative effort with the main goal being a more actively maintained combat system for use in SL Gor. It’s focus is to provide a system that is controlled by a group of active players rather then one person. As it currently stands the combat system is designed to offer similar functionality to what is currently available as well as some long requested additions. If the community desires more features may be added in the future. The GCM group is open to anyone who would like to join and have a voice as to what features are added in future. Scripters or those with PHP, HTML, or .NET experience are also welcome to help.

Skandal! Im deutschen Gor stellen nach und nach momentan zahlreiche Sims auf einen anderen Combat Meter, den sog. Metalife-Meter von Tala Nagy um.

Ausgelöst wurde diese Welle durch die öffentliche Ankündigung von oookusama Hirano im Gor-Unterforum auf slinfo.de, ihre eigenen Sims (Asperiche&Asperiche Harbor sowie Turian Plains) auf diesen Meter umstellen zu wollen. Der einfache Auslöser dafür ist gewesen, dass der NLSv2 keinen eingebauten Combat Meter mehr hat und man so vor der Frage stand: erlauben wir noch CM-Kampf oder konzentrieren wir uns nun vollends auf das reine RP? Für Kusa stand die Antwort fest: Metalife ist das Mittel der Wahl.
